About Potens

Potens was founded in Birkenhead, Wirral in 1989 by John and Rachel Farragher, motivated by the belief that the way forward for the development of services for people with a learning difficulty lay within the concept of partnership. The partnership involves four main principles:

Philosophy of our Person Centred Care

Potens has an effective "Life Plan" tool that ensures service users are fully included in all of the decisions made in their lives. Our Person Centred Plans are compiled to cater for the intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social provision that each individual requires.

 

Assessment Infomation

An assessment is carried out prior to admission when suitability of the service can be gauged. This establishes required needs, wishes and aspirations of each individual, facilitating efficient planning and organisation of the optimum care package.

 

Positive About Disabled People Award

The 'Positive About Disabled People' award is a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to employers based in Great Britain who have agreed to take action to meet five commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees.
