Autism is a lifelong developmental disability, commonly referred to as Autistic Spectrum Disorder. It is called a Spectrum Disorder as all people with autism share three main areas of difficulty, but it affects them in very different ways.
An acquired brain injury is an injury to the brain that has happened since birth. External forces or internal disorders cause them. External forces may include road traffic accidents or other violent trauma which involves severe shaking or hitting of the head, conflict and fighting.
