Acorn Activity Centre, Old Colwyn

An established facility dedicated to providing specialist day care for 20 adults, male and female aged 18 - 65, who have physical, sensory and learning disabilities, mental health difficulties or Korsakoff's syndrome. The ethos being that service users choice, preference and dignity are of primary importance.

Our aim is to provide our service users with the opportunity to pursue hobbies and independent living skills within an environment that is meaningful, supportive, friendly and individual to their needs. Service users participate in an active social life and our experienced staff organise a range of activites designed to satisfy the personal interests and aspirations of each client. To gain maximum benefit from the project, and individual progress plan is prepared using information from the service user, carers and managers.

Activities are wide ranging and include computer studies and internet café, health and beauty, arts and crafts and many leisure pursuits such as snooker, indoor bowls, karaoke, board games, quizzes and parties for special occasions.
