Arbennig Unit, Old Colwyn

Registered Residential assessment & rehabilitation unit, providing accommodation & support for twenty one people with Korsakoffs Syndrome (alcohol related brain injury), split into three units.

 Takes a person centred approach, focused on positive outcomes for each individual.  Encourages a homely environment, supporting daily living activities and facilitating access to local inclusive community activities. The Arbennig Unit is close to the town centre and community activities of Colwyn Bay. The service offers people with high support needs a package which includes individualised support & care, in a stable environment, aiding therapy and rehabilitation. The skilled staff team benefit from training and guidance from Potens Behavioural Therapy Team, accessing solutions to communication issues, daily living difficulties and any behaviour that challenges. Facilities - Three self contained units, each with 6-8 en-suite rooms, with neutral decoration and space for sleeping & living in each personal room. Each unit has a variety of communal rooms, lounge, dining room, kitchen & smoking room, plus access to a large rear garden & patio area.
