Avondale Lodge Residential Care Home Teeside

Avondale Lodge provides care and support for twelve adults, male and female between the ages of 18 and 65 years, with mild to severe learning disabilities who may have associated mental health and behavioural difficulties.

The home itself is a large Victorian building, overlooking Redcar cricket field, close to both the seafront and main shopping area. The house has been extensively refurbished throughout, and has 12 single rooms (4 at ground floor level) complete with en-suite shower and toilet facilities. There are also two beds available for respite care for adults with moderate physical or learning disabilities.

The house has two large lounges, a dining room, an office, a large kitchen and a light and sound area. We have a stairlift up to the upper floor. There are also gardens at the front of the house and courtyards to the rear.

Before admission to the home a full multi-disciplinary assessment is undertaken in order to ascertain the service users needs and daily activities or routines. The care and support received is then tailored to individual and these will be dictated in a manner of approach, attitude and degree of support offered by the staff team. Person centred plans that are compiled cater for the intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social provision that the service user requires.
