ABOUT OUR SERVICE
We place an emphasis on maximising independence and supporting individuals to develop their social and interpersonal skills. Our service is based on O'Brien's five service accomplishments and the previous work completed by Wolfensburger. We are committed to providing a person-centred service in partnership with the individual. The working partnership involves four main principles of trust, positive regards, shared learning and eaquality.
Our aim at Beaufort House is to provide a stimulating environment with an emphasis on independent living, and we work with the individual to achieve full independence. The care and support received is tailored to their individual needs and these will be dictated in a manner of approach, attitude and degree of support offered by the staff team.
The company has an effective "life plan" tool that ensures the resident is fully included in all the decisions made in respect to their lives. The person centred plans that are compiled cater for the intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social provision that the service user requires. All staff are aware of the importance of attending to these needs in a way that maintains dignity, respect and freedom from boredom and prevents insecurity and isolation.
ACTIVITIES
Daily activities are fundamentally based on basic life principles and geared towards encouraging greater independence. Service users are encopuraged as much as possible to contribute to the general cleaning, upkeep and other aspects of the running of the home. This offers a routine and structure of daily life and the opportunity to develop skills. The home also uses outside sources including colleges to promote independence and encourage interests in alternative activities.
