Columba Centre

Day Opportunities & life skills training unit for people with disabilities, including learning disabilities and mental health issues. Registered as an accredited ASDAN training centre & recommends many course subjects. Takes a person centred approach, encouraging independence & focused on outcomes for each individual, facilitating access to local inclusive community activities. The Columba Centre is an innovative, new, day opportunities centre close to the Park and town centre of Birkenhead. The service offers people with high support  needs, individualised support, certified training, course subject choice plus voluntary placement and work  opportunities. Students benefit from a skilled and experienced staff team, a flexible approach to learning new skills and building their social networks with other students. Facilities -  2 floors large house with fully accessible lift, 3 meeting & multi-function rooms, drop-in café, computers & internet access, large garden & patio area.  Price structure (N.B. Costs vary depending on the service required and can be provided on request or calculated as part of individual personal plans) Basic morning or afternoon session (3.5 hours) £27.50 Full day (i.e. 2 sessions) £50.00 1:1 support with a group £13.18 per hour 1:1 support for individual activity £13.18 per hour.  Where a therapist or tutor is involved in group work or individual sessions, costs will vary accordingly. Prices do not include certain materials or registration / certification fees etc. The basic sessions operate within the core opening times of 9-5 Monday to Friday. Other sessions/activities are available outside of these hours (evenings and weekends) and charged on an individual basis dependent on the activity and number of participants. We are often able to offer services at short notice in cases of emergency. Services provided will be responsive to Service Users wishes and requirements and all suggestions are welcomed.
