Learning Disabilities
Newlands is a registered care home for 12 men and women, 18-65 years, with learning disabilities. Staff are trained to assist with all aspects of personal care at a level required for each individuals needs. Nursing care is not provided.
Newlands is located in a street of similar properties in the Wallasey area of Wirral. The home is within walking distance of local shops and the town centre of Liscard. There are good transport links to major towns on Wirral and also to Liverpool City Centre.
ACCOMMODATION
Newlands is made up of two large semi-detached houses that have been adapted to form one dwelling. It also has a connecting door which gives the added facility of separating the two sections should the need arise. It therefore has two living rooms and two kitchens, one of which Service Users take full charge of and are encouraged to develop their life skills with staff support. There are four bedrooms located on the ground floor and one disabled shower room at ground level.
OUR SERVICE
We provide a service for adults with mild to moderate learning difficulties, epilepsy, challenging behaviour, complex needs and mental health issues. There is an emphasis on indpendent living and supporting individuals to develop their social and interpersonal skills. We are committed to providing a person centred service in partnership with the individual. This "working partnership" with the individual involves four main principles; Trust, Positive Regards, Shared Learning and Equality.
STAFF TEAM
The management team have over 19 years of combined experience in the care field, ranging from elderly to challenging behaviour.
