Park Road South, known to many as Farragher House, is a registered care home providing twenty-four hour support to 21 adults, male and female from 18 to 65, with learning disabilities and complex needs. The home does not provide nursing care but such support may be provided by the local specialist services.
The home was originally two houses and has been converted into one detached property, overlooking Birkenhead Park and within easy walking distance of all community facilities one would expect to find in a town centre location including local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pubs and other leisure facilties. There are 19 spacious single rooms and 1 large double room, situated over three floors containing modern furniture and decorated to a high standard. There are 4 bedrooms on the ground floor, 8 single and 1 double bedroom on the first floor and seven bedrooms on the second floor.
ABOUT OUR SERVICE
Service users are fully included in all decisions made in respect of their lives, and choice is encouraged as a feature of everyday life to promote individuality and self-respect. Our aim is to provide a stimulating environment with an emphasis on independent living and to work with service users to achieve full independence wherever possible.
Personal Development Plans are developed by service users with the support of key workers, advocates, local specialist teams and/or care manager. These plans are regularly reviewed, evaluated and amended as the individual's needs dictate. Formal reviews are held within a multi-disciplinary context six weeks after admission and every three to six months thereafter.
