Learning Disabilities
Springfield provides a day service for up to 42 adults, male and female from 18 years of age onwards, with learning disabilities.
Our aim is to provide our service users with the opportunity to pursue hobbies and independent living skills within an environment that is meaningful, supportive, friendly and individual to their needs. Service users participate in an active social life and our experienced staff organise a range of activites designed to satisfy the personal interests and aspirations of each client. To gain maximum benefit from the project, an individual progress plan is prepared using information from the service user, carers and managers.
Activities are wide ranging and include computer studies, health and beauty, arts and crafts and many leisure pursuits such as karaoke, board games, quizzes and parties for special occasions. We also hold our own annual pantomime where service users and staff perform for guests at Darlington Arts Centre.
