Sydenham is a residential care home which provides care and support for upto 7 men and women with a learning disability.

We aim to provide a permanent, safe, homely environment for people with learning disabilities, striving to deliver a high standard of care and encouraging residents to live fulfilled lives.

Every resident is assessed and has an individual care plan with the ultimate aim of promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle. The right to privacy, dignity and freedom of choice is respected at all times.

We encourage residents to enjoy a greater degree of flexibility and freedom enabling them to have quality life experiences and to express themselves through their own opinions and judgements on all personal matters. To achieve this, a greater liaison between staff and residents will promote opportunities which will involve calculated risk taking decisions and these will be supported by a Choice, Empowerment & Risk policy for staff guidance.
